Artists Create Original Art

How did you use your own unique ideas in your work? I made it so it looked kind of like a free African with a wisdom stick.

Did you use a source for inspiration, then combine it with your own ideas to make it original? The sticks were from nature and most Africans live in nature so I made it look like a African on the paper.

Artists Reflect

When did you step back and analyze you work during this project? When I was finished, and i was satisfied with my art.

Did you consider how ideas would work before you tried them? Yes, i thought about how i could make the parts of the sticks go in a circle.

Artists Develop Art Making Skills

Did you learn new techniques or processes as part of the work for this project? Yes. I learned how to cut and trace onto clay. I also learned how to add texture to make the boy and elephant stand out. I smoothed it out to make it look better.

Did you gain skill with familiar materials? No.

Artists Solve Problems

How did you respond to challenges that occurred as you worked? I calmly fixed my mistakes and asked for help from my teacher.

Did your work take an unexpected turn due to a mistake or did something happen that was unplanned? Yes. I sprayed to much water on the clay.

shibori art post

Her name is Micheal Smith and he is a shibori dye artist. She creates wearable fiber that he feels is magical. Her works are also beautiful. She is from North Carolina, USA. She has worked under the names of three companies. The names are Three Wishes, Chaos, and Mystic Eye. She uses a lot of combinations in her work. Also she sows and dyes.

She does use a specific design but I'm not sure which one. She uses some type of pattern. Her work is more gallery design. But she does sell her work. I picked this artist because her work is pretty and unique. I was very attracted to her work.
